Question: Is it too late to file for my INCOME TAXES 2008 ?

Answer: Actually, you would be filing taxes for the tax year 2007. Your 2008 taxes aren’t due until next year. You have until April 15th to file your taxes.

Depending on the complexity of your taxes you can use an online resource like TurboTax to walk you through each step in the filing process. They will also electronically file for you. This will cost you around $20 depending on how complex a program you need from them.

If you have a very simple return (like you want to file just to get the Bush tax credit) and have nothing to really report, then I would suggest going to your local library. You can pick up the simple 1040EZ form and the easy instructions and fill it out yourself by hand. This option will only cost you the price of a stamp.
