State Tax Filing Forms

Question: I did not work in 2007, do i still file any tax forms?
I was jobless with no earned income in 2007, zero dollars earned. I lived on my savings from previous years and did not get a new job until the end of January 2008. Is there any tax form that I should file to say “zero earned income”. I am a resident of Georgia and I also need to know if there are any state tax forms that i need to file stating zero income. I have no dependent, and no one can claim me as dependent for i am 22 years old. How will this effect my filing for next year? I was not on unemployment from the government and did not receive any govenmental money help what so ever.
Answer: Unfortunately with no 2007 earned income, you will not be eligible for the economic stimulus (requires $3000.00 income). So you do not need to file for 2007 (unless you had significant investment income).
It is possible that you may still get some benefit from the stimulus depending how that all shakes out for 2008 taxes.

File Taxes Late Refund

Question: can you file taxes extra late?
I haven’t filed taxes since 04 maybe 05, I’m looking to file them this coming tax season but I have a couple concerns. 1st am I eligible for obama reparations. 2nd will filing late result in any penalties like interest, audit, or something similar. 3rd will filing late result in any benefits like Tax Refund or are they void after that current year. 4th A main reason I haven’t filed is because I don’t know where 25% of my financial documents and pay stubs are, 1 of which being circuit city which is no longer operating. Is there any way I or the IRS can retrieve these for me? What would you do in my situation?
Answer: You can file late. If you have a refund, there will be no penalty. File your returns.

Uk Tax Return Online Filing

Question: Unique Taxpayer Reference ?
Hi
I want to register for online tax return for a buy to let property and when I click register self assessment I am asked to enter Unique Taxpayer Reference (UTR).
I never received UTR as I am first time filing tax returns
Thanks (UK answers please)
Thanks but How and where to pay tax without any registration or filing tax return.Answer: You obviously haven’t registered for self-assessment. Are you self-employed, or have you received amounts of untaxed income? If so, and you haven’t registered, you are in the manure. You can’t pay tax without registering and filing a Tax Return.
Either call in at your local tax enquiry centre, or register on www.hmrc.gov.uk.

Tax Assistance Jobs

Question: Can my daughter’s father, who doesn’t have custody, claim her on his income tax for the child tax credit?
He pays 50 a month to welfare because I am on assistance temporarily. He’s only paid for two months. I have full custody, but my husband goes to school full time, no job, and I am not in school because I am in my 3rd trimester. Can he claim her and receive the large child credit? Does he need my permission to claim her? Does anyone know where I can get these questions answered?
Answer: You could sign IRS form 8332 and give him permission to claim her as long as he’s her biological father, but if he doesn’t have any tax liability, claiming her wouldn’t do anything for him. The child tax credit only subtracts from the taxes the person owes, they don’t get any extra back. So if he doesn’t have a job, and doesn’t owe tax, there’s no credit either. If you don’t have any earned income, then claiming her wouldn’t do anything for you either.
