hi all, first of all i will give a little info:
been paying into a company pension for 5 years.
my company has been taken over.
they have stopped the pension scheme as it was costing a lot of money.
they then start a new pension scheme, which i have not joined yet, was planning to and transferring my old into (which i am able to)
have just been notified of possible redundancy (90 days notice)i am wondering the legability of joining and transferring my units to the new, and if redundancy happens, would i get a refund of my total funds minus tax as i have been in the scheme less than 2 years?
thanks in advance, the person dealing with pensions is on holiday currently, so would like to know in advance if this is possible.
Answer: No – it will count as 5 years
If transferring a Pension allowed you to ’start counting again’, we could ALL play that trick = in case you don’t know, you are legally entitled to Transfer your whole pension pot out of the company scheme and into a private plan ..
