Question: Does anyone know a website that files FREE state taxes?
I have to file state taxes for both Michigan and Virginia. Does anyone know of any website that does free state taxes for partial residence without having to file the federal taxes with it?
Answer: For Virginia: https://www.tax.virginia.gov
You don’t have to file your federal with it and it’s free.For Michigan: Part-year residents have only two programs that allow free e-filing for both federal and state: Turbo Tax Freedom Edition and Tax Slayer (if you meet the guildelines).
Otherwise, it’s going to cost to file a MI return, unless you mail it in.
