Question: UK Tax query. I have been waiting three months for a legitimate refund of income tax.?
What can I do to speed up the process and can I charge interest to the revenue for late payment
Answer: Just happened to me, they are supposed to give it top priority and refund it within six weeks. We were literally on the phone to them everyday for two weeks. You have to be careful because we were told on several occasions that they were doing this or that but it was not true. Really keep on at them, they do do it in the end. We got ours within six weeks just through sheer perseverance. Good Luck xx
