Irs Address Texas

Question: Is this a new devious immoral way for advertisers & merchants to get you to open junk mail? Have you seen this?
The envelope is very official looking and says: AUDIT DIVISION and OFFICIAL BUSINESS.
But then you open up the envelope and it’s a Jewish group looking for money with a return address of Bedford, Texas.
These filthy vermin were impersonating the IRS and Tax authorities!!!
Can I sue them?
Please beware of this new evil tactic !!
It also says “MUST BE OPENED BY ADDRESSEE” as if i am required by law to open it !
Answer: I think you are assuming a bit much….an “audit division” can be a normal department within any company who happens to have one, and it would handle customer data, inventory data, etc…..it really means nothing.
..and it is in fact “official business” because they want to do business with you.
“must be opened up by addressee” is not telling you that you have to open it…it is stating that no one else but you can open it….which is the law anyway…so basically they were just stating the law regarding the openeing of mail.
There is nothing evil or immoral about it…and the fact is that you opened it means it was very effective….I think you maybe just got confused by the wording they used.If you’d have opened it and found pizza coupons I’m pretty sure you would have been happy that they got you to open their mail.
You have to realize something…when companies send you stuff in the mail, they are trying as hard as they can, to make that first step in the business relationship with you…they need to grab your attention, and say “hey, look what we have to offer”
…and no you can’t sue them…you received no loss or personal injury, but if they were actually representing themselves as the IRS in their mail, you could report them…..and if they were…I say do it! …kick them in the right in the grapes.
