Tax Refund Check

Tax Refund Check

Question: How to cash a two party Tax Refund check.?

Tax refund is made out to both husband and wife. Now separated and live in different states with no joint accounts in either state. There are no problems with either party as far as signing the check and sending it to the other to cash. However, no banks will cash the check. Any ideas/

Answer: Normally a bank requires both parties to appear in person and show their drivers licenses. Ask your bank if they have any suggestions since the two people live in different states. Also, go to www.irs.gov and look in frequently asked questions or search for the info. I would think that this has had to have happened to other people. If you can’t get an answer either of those ways then call the IRS and ask them what you should do.
